A None Too Subtle Shift
[ by Michael T] [Rantings & Ravings] October 02, 2007Readers of this website may have noticed a none too subtle shift in what we’ve written about in the past year. As we have watched in horror at the ineffectiveness of Democrats to both get out their message and effectively prove countermeasure to the Bush Administration, we have come to the conclusion that our government has gone past incompetence straight to criminal negligence. As such, OutrageNation has begun to take a new direction, one where we are less than sympathetic to hapless Democrats even though at least 2 of us are registered in that party.

OK, NOW can we talk about partition?
[ by James Linkin] [Rantings & Ravings] June 06, 2007Finally, there seems to be some broad recognition that partition in Iraq is inevitable. But General Petraeus is still pursuing counterinsurgency. How many more will die before our policy aligns with reality?

A Simple Solution to the Tyranny of Spam
[ by Michael T] [Rantings & Ravings] December 07, 2006I remember when spamming was a big topic of discussion. The government even weighed in, in its patently useless way. These days we don’t hear anything about how to solve it. Meanwhile, we slog through piles of it every day. So I have decided to reignite the debate. Simply put, we need the death penalty for spammers.

Brother, Can You Spare a Buck? [ by Michael T] [News You Can Abuse]
July 03, 2008Yesterday our demented commander in chief again proclaimed his belief in a strong dollar. Unfortunately for Americans, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this line from Mr. Bush. As usual, it adds up to a load of bunk.

Exxon Mobil Takes it to the Bank [ by Michael T] [News You Can Abuse]
June 25, 2008Today’s ludicrous Supreme Court ruling getting Exxon Mobil off the hook for a couple of billion reminds us how much the Supreme Court likes to sell out Americans. You’d be surprised how often that happens.

Obama’s Running Mate Quandary [ by James Linkin] [News You Can Abuse]
June 09, 2008Much ink has been spilled on why Hillary can’t be Barack’s running mate, but I for one think we need to solicit her input, for better or for worse. She after all will have to be the one to sell Obama to her disaffected supporters.

You Have No Choice But to Vote for Obama [ by Michael T] [News You Can Abuse]
June 06, 2008I had a conversation with a very angry Hillary supporter today and I tried to convince her that she needs to vote for Obama. Maybe it’s just too soon. Anyway, I started thinking about ways to convince Hillary supporters to vote for Obama. Here’s a short list - feel free to add to it.

May 31, 2008Anyone who thinks otherwise should consider the following fact: severely violent weather, the kind that causes loss of life or mass displacements, is now four times more frequent than it was just 30 years ago. And no country is more affected by these severe weather incidents than ours.

Never Look a Gift Bush in the Mouth [ by Michael T] [News You Can Abuse]
May 16, 2008GWB really stepped in it yesterday in giving Barack Obama a reason to attack him and McCain for their foreign policy ineptitude. Obama’s campaign should issue a hearty thank you. For now, no one is talking about Rev. Wright or Michelle’s “proud” moment.

Foul on Bush [ by Michael T] [News You Can Abuse]
May 12, 2008This is turning out to be a fascinating election - can Republicans beat Obama by painting him as the weak-kneed liberal elitist or will the American public finally say enough is enough and give the new guy a chance? Based on a poll out today, I’d say maybe the cliches will lose for once.

America Needs a Strong Dollar Now [ by Michael T] [News You Can Abuse]
May 01, 2008I have been railing for months that we need to strengthen the dollar since oil prices are driven up by its weakness. Yet for some strange reason, the Bush administration and our intrepid final three candidates refuse to deal with it. Maybe they can learn something from what is happening today.
